Say I Do
Saying “I Do”
There is no better way to kick off our Honor Your Companion mini blog series than with a special tribute to our companions. Saying “I do”, vows that will last a lifetime, creating love, happiness; till death do us part.
Ok, ok, so we aren’t talking human marriage, but what about the commitment to our companions. During our time planning for a new addition to our family, we ensure we have food, bed, dishes, vet appointments set, leash, treats; you know the essentials. What we may not consider is you are committing to your newest addition. Take time each day to remember this simple vow.
My Dearest Companion,
I promise to encourage your greatest fulfillment,
Because that is what makes you unique and wonderful.
I promise to nurture and accept who you are,
Because through this your soul shines.
I promise to help shoulder our challenges,
For there is nothing we cannot face if we stand together.
I promise to be your partner in all things,
Working with you as a part of the whole.
I promise to be there both mentally and physically for you,
Because this is how our relationship will flourish
I promise you long walks, endless butt scratches, and tennis ball fetches,
Because this can never be a match for the unconditional love you will give me
I promise to be as true to you as you will be with me
There will be hard days, long days, frustrating days,
These days will be no compare to the adventure we will endure together.
You will be one of my greatest adventures.
Most of all, I promise to be a true and loyal friend to you.
I promise to love and care for you, and I will try in every way to be worthy of your love.
I will always be honest with you, kind, patient and forgiving.
But most of all, I promise to be a true and loyal friend to you, until it is your time.
I vow to be your friend, guardian, protector, best friend, caretaker; to love you unconditionally as you love me. When it is your time, I will be there; till we meet again someday.
I promise you perfect love and perfect trust,
For one lifetime with you could never be enough.
This is my sacred vow to you, my greatest adventure; my companion.
It is time to say “I do.” It is time to Honor Your Companion.
